Cooking : Breakfast Pita Pockets
Ingredients
1 pound bulk pork sausage
5 pita breads, halved
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
5 slices Swiss cheese, halved
Directions
In a skillet, cook sausage until no longer pink. Drain and set aside. Place the pita halves in an ungreased 11-in. x 7-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 300 degrees F for 5 minutes. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, oregano, salt and pepper. Pour into a lightly greased skillet. Cook and stir gently over medium heat until the eggs are completely set. Stir in sausage. Place a half slice of cheese in each pita half; spoon about 1/3 cup of egg mixture into each. Serve warm.

Place the dish in the freezer; scrape and stir the blueberry mixture with a fork once an hour until evenly frozen and icy, about 4 hours. Scrape to fluff and lighten the ice crystals; spoon into chilled glasses to serve.

1 1/2 pounds red snapper fillets, cut into 2 inch pieces
1/2 cup white vinegar
salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 cups fish stock
1 pound clams in shell, scrubbed
1/2 pound medium shrimp, with shells
6 (3/4 inch thick) slices Italian bread, toasted

Heat the milk in a small saucepan until it bubbles, then remove from heat. Add the butter, salt and sugar and stir until melted; let cool until lukewarm. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine milk mixture with the yeast mixture. Mix in the egg and 3 cups of flour. Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
Deflate the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and form into loaves. Place the loaves into two lightly greased 9x5 inch loaf pans. Color one portion red, one yellow, and leave one plain. Toss the colored coconut together with the plain. Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven, then remove from the oven and press 2 more candies into the center of each cookie. ground black pepper to taste

Place the bacon in a large, deep pot, and cook over medium-high heat, stirring to turn pieces occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain the bacon pieces on a paper towel-lined plate. With a paper towel, wipe the bacon grease out of the pot but keep as much of the brown bits as possible. Stir in the onion, sauerkraut, brown sugar, and chicken broth, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the potatoes and apple slices.
Place the juniper berries, peppercorns, cloves, parsley, and bay leaf into a small cheesecloth square, and tie the ends together to make a spice bag (or place the spices into a stainless steel tea ball). In a large bowl, combine flour, orange peel, baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar and salt. Add chopped cranberries; stir to completely coat. Add brown sugar mixture and butter; mix well.
