Cooking : Barbecue Butter Beans

Ingredients
2 (15 ounce) cans butter beans, rinsed and drained
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 bacon strips, diced

Directions
In a bowl, combine the beans, brown sugar, ketchup and onion. Transfer to a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with bacon. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours.

Cooking : Autumn Acorn Squash

Ingredients
2 medium acorn squash
1/2 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup cooked wild rice
1/2 cup chopped, peeled tart apple
1/2 cup chopped fresh or frozen cranberries
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions
Cut squash in half and discard seeds; set squash aside. In a skillet over medium heat, cook turkey until no longer pink; drain. Add egg, rice,apple, cranberries, celery, salt, parsley, allspice and cardamom. Spoon into squash halves; place in an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Fill dish with hot water to a depth of 1/2 in. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Uncover; bake 20-25 minutes longer or until the squash is tender.

Cooking : Abalos-Style Hamburger Soup (Picadillo Filipino)

Ingredients
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 large tomato, diced
1 pound ground beef
4 cups water
1 large potato, diced
2 tablespoons beef bouillon
2 tablespoons fish sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Cook the onion and garlic in the hot oil until the onions are tender. Stir in the tomato; cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Crumble the ground beef into the pan and cook until brown, about 5 minutes. Add the water, potato, beef bouillon, fish sauce, salt, and pepper; reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.

Cooking : Auntie Emily's Rhubarb Pudding

Ingredients
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups chopped rhubarb
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3/4 cup boiling water

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square baking dish.
In a medium bowl, stir together the white sugar, flour and baking powder. Stir in the milk until blended, then stir in the rhubarb. Pour into the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. In a separate bowl, stir together the brown sugar, butter and boiling water until butter has melted. Pour over the cake in the pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, 45 to 50 minutes.

Cooking : Artichoke and Tomato Stuffed Chicken

Ingredients
1/4 cup olive oil
4 fresh tomatoes, diced
3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
6 artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
2 red bell peppers, chopped
1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese, cubed
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - pounded to 1/4 inch thickness
2 cups Classico� Tomato and Basil Sauce

Directions
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, artichoke hearts and red peppers. Cook until just hot, then remove from heat. transfer to a large bowl and toss together with mozzarella cubes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lay out the pounded breasts and spoon filling onto the center, leaving an inch on each side. Adjust filling as you roll so as not to over stuff. Place them seam side down into a 2 quart baking dish. Cover with pasta sauce. Place lid onto dish or cover with aluminum foil.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until chicken is cooked through. You'll love it!

Cooking : Black and Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup wheat germ
2/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups half-and-half cream
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup fresh blueberries

Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter muffin pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flours, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together half and half cream and eggs. Stir wet ingredients into dry, mixing just to combine. Fold in berries. Scoop batter into muffin pan cups. If there are any empty cups, fill those halfway with water.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until done.

Cooking : Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package broccoli coleslaw mix
2 (3 ounce) packages chicken flavored ramen noodles
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 cup unsalted peanuts
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup cider vinegar

Directions
In a large salad bowl, combine the slaw, broken noodles and green onions.
Whisk together the sugar, oil, vinegar and ramen seasoning packets. Pour over salad and toss to evenly coat. Refrigerate until chilled; top with peanuts and sunflower seeds before serving.

Cooking : Asian Noodle Toss

Ingredients
8 ounces uncooked thin spaghetti
1 (10 ounce) package julienned carrots
8 ounces sugar snap peas
2 cups cubed, cooked chicken
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
1/2 cup stir-fry sauce

Directions
Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Stir in carrots and peas; cook 1 minute longer. Drain; place in a bowl. Add the chicken, oranges and stir-fry sauce; toss to coat.

Cooking : Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Ingredients
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, sliced
4 slices bacon
1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Pound the chicken breasts until flat. Put a slice of cream cheese and 1 teaspoon chopped chives in the middle of each breast and roll up. Wrap each rolled breast with 1 slice of bacon and secure with toothpicks. Place in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine condensed soup, mayonnaise, milk, lemon juice, pepper and salt. Mix until smooth, then pour over chicken.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until no longer pink and juices run clear.

Cooking : Bohemian Pork Roast

Ingredients
3 pounds bone-in pork roast
2 tablespoons dried marjoram
salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons caraway seed

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Heat a roasting pan over medium high heat until hot. Rub the roast with the marjoram, salt and pepper. Brown all sides of the roast in the hot roasting pan. Sprinkle caraway seeds over all and pour in enough water to come halfway up the sides of the roast.
Cover and place roast in the preheated oven. Bake for 1 1/2 hours, or until an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) is reached, about 30 minutes per pound. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before carving.

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
4 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
1 large onion, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 pound cooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 (6 ounce) cans crabmeat - drained, flaked and cartilage removed
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 (4.5 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon garlic salt
3/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3/4 cup cooked rice
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crushed butter-flavored crackers

Directions
In a small saucepan, cook and stir the cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter over low heat until melted and smooth. In a large skillet, saute the onion, celery and green pepper in remaining butter until tender. Stir in the shrimp, crab, soup, mushrooms, garlic salt, hot pepper sauce, cayenne and rice.
Transfer to a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Combine cheese and cracker crumbs; sprinkle over the top. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.

Cooking : Allspice String Beans

Ingredients
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons ground allspice
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic until lightly browned. Mix in green beans and water, and bring to a boil. Stir in allspice, salt, and pepper. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes, until green beans are soft.

Cooking : Broccoli Crab Bisque

Ingredients
1 cup sliced leeks, white part only
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup chopped fresh broccoli florets
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup half-and-half cream
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat - drained, flaked and cartilage removed

Directions
In a large saucepan, saute leeks, mushrooms, broccoli and garlic in butter until tender. Add flour, thyme, pepper and bay leaf; mix well. Stir in the broth and cream. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
Add the cheese and crab; stir until cheese is melted and soup is heated through. Discard bay leaf before serving.

Cooking : Broccoli Cheese Soup

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
4 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 (1 pound) loaf processed cheese food, cubed
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2/3 cup cornstarch
1 cup water

Directions
In a stockpot, melt butter over medium heat. Cook onion in butter until softened. Stir in broccoli, and cover with chicken broth. Simmer until broccoli is tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
Reduce heat, and stir in cheese cubes until melted. Mix in milk and garlic powder.
In a small bowl, stir cornstarch into water until dissolved. Stir into soup; cook, stirring frequently, until thick.

Cooking : Best Ever Pasta Salad

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package dry penne pasta
2 large cucumbers, peeled and cubed
2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
2 cups mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
3 tablespoons dried dill weed
2 tablespoons lemon pepper

Directions
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add penne pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
Combine pasta, cucumbers, tomatoes, mayonnaise, sour cream, dill weed and lemon pepper. Serve as is or chill for 45 minutes.

Cooking : Barley Burger Stew

Ingredients
1/2 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup chopped celery
2 1/4 cups tomato juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup medium pearl barley
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions
In a saucepan over medium heat, cook beef, onion and celery until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato juice, water, barley, chili powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 50-60 minutes or until barley is tender.

Cooking : Barbeque Chicken

Ingredients
1 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
salt and pepper to taste

Directions
In a large glass bowl mix lemon juice, vegetable oil, vinegar, oregano, and garlic powder. Place chicken pieces in the bowl, and season with salt and pepper. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
On the prepared grill, cook chicken until no longer pink and juices run clear. Periodically brush chicken with the remaining marinade mixture while cooking. Discard any leftover marinade.

Cooking : Asparagus Mousse

Ingredients
1 pound asparagus, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
3 green onions, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
4 egg yolks
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 cup hot melted butter

Directions
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the asparagus and green onions; cook 5 to 7 minutes, or until asparagus is tender. Strain through a mesh strainer, and press out excess water. Place into the bowl of a blender and puree until smooth, then pour into a bowl and set aside.
Rinse out the blender bowl, then add the egg yolks, lemon juice, salt, and Tabasco sauce. Cover, leaving the hole in the lid open, and blend for about 5 seconds. Continue to blend at high speed while pouring the butter in a thin stream though the hole in the lid. Turn the blender off once all the butter has been added and the sauce has thickened. Pour into the asparagus puree and fold until evenly blended. Serve immediately.

Cooking : Butter Pecan Cake

Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 1/3 cups chopped pecans
2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
BUTTER PECAN FROSTING:
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
3 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
Pour melted butter into a baking pan. Stir in pecans. Toast at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in vanilla and 1 cup toasted pecans. Pour batter into two greased and floured 8-in. round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until the cakes test done. Cool in pans 5 minutes. Remove from pans and cool thoroughly on wire rack.
Meanwhile, for frosting, cream butter and sugar. Add milk and vanilla, beating until light and fluffy. Add additional milk if needed. Stir in remaining toasted pecans. Spread between the layers and over the top and sides of the cake.

Cooking : Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients
6 large peeled, cubed potatoes
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 1/4 cups milk
1 onion, diced
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
Layer potatoes and onions into the casserole dish. Combine soup, milk and pepper in a bowl, then pour soup mixture over the potatoes and onions. The soup mixture should almost cover the potatoes and onion, if it does not add extra milk.
Cover dish and bake in preheated 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oven for 60 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked through. At 30 minutes, remove the casserole from the oven and stir once before returning the dish to the oven. Remove from oven and serve.

Cooking : Best Cranberry Chicken

Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion, chopped
3 pounds chicken thighs
2/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 (8 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce

Directions
Preheat an oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Place the butter and onion in a 9x13 inch baking dish, and bake in the preheated oven, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent, about 15 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven, push the onion over to one end, and place the chicken thighs in the dish in a single layer. Return to the oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
Stir together the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard powder, and cranberry sauce in a bowl. Remove the chicken from the oven, and scoop the cooked onions into the cranberry mixture. Spoon the mixture over the chicken thighs, and return to the oven.
Bake until the cranberry mixture is slightly caramelized and the chicken is done, about 20 more minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the center should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

Cooking : Bourbon Pecan Shortbread

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon bourbon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions
Grind the nuts with 1/2 cup flour in a food processor. Pulse on and off till the nuts are ground to a fine crumb. Add the rest of the flour and the cornstarch. Pulse to mix.
In a separate bowl, cream the butter or margarine. Mix in the confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and bourbon. Work in the flour mixture. Knead the dough until smooth.
Lightly spray your shortbread pan, or an 8 inch round pan, with a vegetable oil spray. Firmly press the dough into the pan, working from the center out. Poke the shortbread all over with a fork.
Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 35 minutes, or till lightly browned. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Loosen the edges with a knife, and flip the pan over onto a cutting board. Tap lightly to loosen from pan. Cut into serving pieces while still warm.

Cooking : Absolutely Awesome BBQ Sauce

Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chile sauce
1/2 cup rum
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
ground black pepper to taste

Directions
In a saucepan over low heat, mix the brown sugar, chile sauce, rum, soy sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, dry mustard, and pepper. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Cooking : Biscuit-Topped Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients
2 (10.75 ounce) cans Campbell's� Condensed Cream of Potato Soup
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 cups cooked cut-up vegetables*
2 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 (10 ounce) can refrigerated biscuits

Directions
In 3-quart shallow baking dish mix soup, milk, thyme, pepper, vegetables and chicken.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes or until hot. Stir. Arrange biscuits over chicken mixture. Bake 15 minutes more or until biscuits are golden.

Cooking : Blueberry Mini Muffins

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
Additional sugar

Directions
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture just until moistened. Fold in blueberries (batter will be thick).
Fill greased or paper-lined miniature muffin cups with about a tablespoon of batter. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

Cooking : Bishop's Bread II

Ingredients
2 cups white sugar
1 cup margarine, softened
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained and juice reserved
2 (12 ounce) packages semisweet chocolate chips
2 (8 ounce) packages chopped pitted dates
1 cup flaked coconut
2 cups chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9x5 inch loaf pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking powder. In a third bowl, combine the buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla extract and maraschino cherry juice.
Stir the milk mixture and flour mixture alternately into the egg mixture until a soft batter is formed. Fold in cherries, chocolate chips, dates, coconut and pecans. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 90 to 120 minutes, until loaves are firm and a toothpick inserted into the center of each loaf comes out clean.

Cooking : Bird's Nests II

Ingredients
2 cups chow mein noodles
2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
16 (1 ounce) squares white chocolate
1/3 cup chocolate covered raisins

Directions
Place a sheet of waxed paper or foil on a large cookie sheet. In a large bowl, combine the noodles and the cereal and set aside.
Melt white chocolate or vanilla candy-coating in a double boiler over hot water (or in the microwave). Remove from heat and pour over noodles and cereal.
To form nests, mound 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared cookie sheet. With the back of a teaspoon, make an indentation in the center of each mound. Press 3 or 4 candies in the center of each "nest". Allow to set at room temperature until firm.

Cooking : Blueberry Apple Crisp

Ingredients
4 cups sliced peeled tart apples
2 cups blueberries
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour, divided
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions
Place apples in a greased 11-in. x 7-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Top with blueberries. Mix brown sugar and 2 tablespoons flour; sprinkle over fruit. Combine sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and remaining flour. Stir in egg with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit; drizzle with butter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 55-60 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm.

Cooking : Black Treacle Scones

Ingredients
3 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons molasses
1 cup milk

Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cream of tarter, salt, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and ginger. Cut in butter with a fork or pastry blender. Combine milk and molasses in a small bowl; stir into flour mixture until moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly. Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick round. Cut out circles with a medium biscuit cutter and place pieces on prepared baking sheet so that they are barely touching.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Move to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving. For soft scones, cover with a dry cloth for 10 minutes. For crisp scones, do not cover.

Cooking : Anu's Bhapa Doi

Ingredients
1 (32 ounce) container plain whole-milk yogurt
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Directions
Line a large strainer with a large coffee filter, or several layers of cheesecloth. Pour the yogurt into the lined strainer, and set it over a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until the yogurt has reached the consistency of soft cream cheese, about 8 hours.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch pie tin.
Discard the liquid that has drained from the yogurt. Place the yogurt into the bowl, and whisk in the condensed milk. Pour into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until the mixture is firm and the top is lightly browned, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, and sprinkle almonds over top. Cool to room temperature before slicing into wedges and serving.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken breasts until cooked through, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Combine the milk and cream of broccoli soup; pour over the chicken. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for a few more minutes. Stir in Cheddar cheese until well blended, and remove from heat. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

1 head fresh broccoli florets

1/4 cup white sugar

Directions
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the bacon, broccoli, cheese, raisins, onion and sunflower seeds.
In a small bowl, whisk together the creamy salad dressing and sugar. Pour over broccoli mixture and toss well to coat. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
3/4 cup dried bread crumbs

Directions
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium high heat and lightly oil grate.
In a large bowl, combine the beef, onion soup mix, water, hot sauce and bread crumbs. Mix together well and form into patties.
Grill patties over medium high heat for 10 to 20 minutes, or to desired doneness.

Ingredients
1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped red pepper
2 cups salsa, divided
1/2 cup KRAFT Tex Mex Shredded Cheese, divided
2 tablespoons KRAFT Calorie-Wise Zesty Italian Dressing
8 flour tortillas (6 inch)
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

Directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Brown meat with peppers in large nonstick skillet. Stir in 1 cup salsa; simmer 5 min., stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in 1/4 cup cheese.
Spread 1/4 cup of the remaining salsa onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking dish. Brush dressing lightly over both sides of tortillas. Stack 4 tortillas; wrap in large sheet of waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH 10 to 20 sec. or just until warmed. Immediately spoon 1/3 cup meat mixture down centre of each warm tortilla; roll up. Place, seam-side down, over salsa in dish. Repeat with remaining tortillas and meat mixture; top with remaining salsa. Cover with foil.
Bake 20 min. or until heated through. Uncover; top with remaining cheese. Bake 2 to 3 min. or until melted. Top with cilantro.

5 cups broccoli florets
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup diced roasted red pepper
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions
Place broccoli in a steamer basket. Place in a saucepan over 1 in. of water; bring to a boil. Cover and steam for 5-8 minutes or until crisp-tender.
Meanwhile, in a nonstick skillet, saute garlic in butter. stir in the red peppers, parsley, salt and pepper. Transfer broccoli to a large bowl; add red pepper mixture and toss to coat.

Cooking : Beef 'N' Bean Pockets

Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
dash cayenne pepper
2 (1 pound) loaves frozen white bread dough, thawed
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions
In a skillet, brown beef and onion; drain. Add the next eight ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool. Roll each loaf of dough into a 16-in. x 8-in. rectangle, about 1/4 in. thick. Cut each into eight 4-in. squares; top each with 1/4 cup filling and 1 tablespoon cheese. Bring the four corners together up over filling; pinch seams to seal. Place on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until browned. Serve immediately, or freeze and reheat in microwave at 50% power for 1-1/2 minutes each.
